Leah Catherine Thompson is a driven young woman pursuing her passions for music and acting. A senior in college, she’s already earned a Biology degree and is now completing her Music Business degree. Alongside her academics, Leah excels as a Division 1 college athlete, competing in cross country, 1500m runs, 2-mile runs, and 5k races.
  Leah’s lifelong dream is to have a career as a broadway performer.  To enable her to pursue this dream into adulthood she plans to provide career stabilizaton by becoming a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Miss Louisiana 2024

In 2024, Leah’s talent and dedication shone through. She began the year by winning the title of Miss Ouachita Parish 2024, securing her spot among the top 30 contestants at the Miss Louisiana pageant. At this prestigious event, Leah not only placed as the 3rd Runner-Up but also impressed the judges with her fitness and talent, earning well-deserved scholarships. Miss Louisiana 2025

Building on this success, Leah went on to win the title of Miss Natchitoches City of Lights in the fall of 2024, qualifying her to compete in the Miss Louisiana 2025 pageant. When and where will the Miss Louisiana 2025 pageant be held?
The Miss Louisiana Pageant 2025 will be held from June 19-21, 2025. The event will take place at the Jack Howard Theater in the Monroe Civic Center, located at 401 Lea Joyner Memorial Expy, Monroe, LA 71201.
Where can I purchase tickets for the Miss Louisiana 2025 pageant?
Patron Ticket Packages, as well as season tickets, are now available for purchase. Please visit misslouisiana.org/shop to place your order and see the enclosed information for details. Tickets will also be available at the door each night of the competition on a first come, first served basis.
How many times has Miss Louisiana won Miss America?
No representative from Louisiana has ever won the title of Miss America. However, four Miss Louisianas have been named first runner-up at the national competition. They are: Patricia Brant (Miss Louisiana 1988), Erika Schwarz (Miss Louisiana 1997), Faith Jenkins (Miss Louisiana 2001), and Jennifer Dupont (Miss Louisiana 2005).
What are the responsibilities of Miss Louisiana?
Miss Louisiana serves as an ambassador for the state and the Miss America Organization. Her responsibilities typically include promoting her social impact initiative statewide, making appearances at various events and schools, working with charitable organizations, and advocating for causes important to her and the state. She also prepares to represent Louisiana at the annual Miss America competition. This involves further developing her platform, honing her talent, and working on her interview skills.
What is the Miss Louisiana Fleur de Lis program?
The Miss Louisiana Fleur de Lis program is a wonderful mentoring opportunity designed for young girls between the ages of 5 and 10. It connects these girls with the talented contestants from both the Miss Louisiana Teen and Miss Louisiana competitions, offering them a chance to be mentored by these role models. Through the program, the girls participate in fun social activities, learn a production number to perform on stage during the pageant, and even get to escort their assigned contestant on stage. As part of the Fleur de Lis program, the girls receive a special crown, sash, a program t-shirt, and other goodies. Even if a participant doesn’t know a contestant personally, we can happily pair her with one. It’s a fantastic way for a daughter, granddaughter, niece, or friend to create lasting memories and be a part of the Miss Louisiana experience – it’s essentially our state’s chapter of the Miss America’s Little Sister Program!

Yes, Leah Thompson currently has two slots available for girls to be her Fleur de Lis. Being a Fleur de Lis is a fantastic opportunity for young girls to connect with and learn from the Miss Louisiana contestants, and Leah would be a wonderful mentor! NBC’s “The Voice”

Leah is a two-time contestant on NBC’s “The Voice,” demonstrating her exceptional talent and drive. Both times she competed, Leah showcased her vocal abilities and made it through multiple rounds before narrowly missing the opportunity to perform live in front of the judges.

Beyond “The Voice,” Leah’s musical journey is multifaceted. She regularly performs as a solo artist throughout Louisiana, gracing stages at events like the Sarepta Christmas Festival (managed by Peggy Adkins, mother of country superstar Trace Adkins), the Beauregard Parish Fair, the Merryville Heritage Festival, Hodges Gardens Fallfest, and Backroads Country Favorites. You can also catch her performing live at Impromptu Players in DeRidder, LA. Furthermore, Leah has appeared as a guest on Linda Davis’s “On The Rise Music Show” in Nashville, TN.

Leah actively engages her online audience through her YouTube channel, where she has amassed over 150 videos, exceeding one million views and garnering over 4000 subscribers. In addition to showcasing her public performances, Leah enjoys sharing original songs and covers with her online audience. Check out one of her most recent additions – a captivating rendition of “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” by John Mayer, performed live on piano.

In 2019, Leah performed at the State Sr. Beta club convention at the River Center Arena in Baton Rouge, LA in front of a crowd of over 6,000 people.  Watch as Leah earns the approval of the crowd as she performs “Colors of The Wind”.

In 2017, Leah and her sister Lexa secured themselves a spot among local DeRidder favorites in their performance of “Defying Gravity” at Impromptu Players.

Leah’s musical journey began early. In 2009, she landed the lead role of Annie in Peter Pan Players’ production, captivating audiences with her performance. The show was such a success that an extra performance was added to accommodate the overwhelming demand. During the run, Leah delighted a young fan by making a special appearance at her birthday party.

Leah’s talent continued to shine. In 2012, she won Artbreak Idol, a prestigious talent competition modeled after the popular television show. Leah impressed the judges throughout the competition, with celebrity judge Jason Castro even declaring her his “favorite so far” in the semi-finals.

In 2013, Leah’s talent took her to the Nashville Country Showdown. She not only competed but was also invited to perform as a special guest at the state finals, showcasing her exceptional vocal abilities to a wider audience.

When not performing or creating content, Leah enjoys writing music, playing the piano, picking up her guitar and ukulele, planning upcoming shows, and studying scripts for future acting roles. Of course, she also lends a hand around the house – as any good daughter would!

Leah, wow, i’ve watched a few of your singing performance videos on your youtube channel, and i really wanted to take a minute to say how excellent you are. Your voice pitch , is spot on !! perfect pitch is so important. Your stage presence and natural ease and happiness is great . You’re greatly gifted as a singer. Don’t let the world corrupt you. hold fast to your values. I’m just really impressed by your amazing natural talent. I’m Shane, and i record and produce alot of songs. Your singing style is a pleasure to hear. In your performance of ‘Slow me Down’ on youtube, that’s really excellent how you switch to the soft , falcetto type vocal for that part in the song. Excellently done. gee, i could just rave on and on . lol. take care.
